The Davenport (IA) Dailey Leader; January 5, 1892; p. 5, col. 5:

Another old settler passed away today, Thomas Murray, whose death was caused yesterday by heart disease. Mr. Murray has been ill for over 15 months, subject to a final summons for many weeks, so that his death was not altogether unexpected.

He was born in Donegal County, Ireland on the 17th day of March 1820. At the age of 24 he came to this country, locating in Boston. While there, in 1855, he married Johanna Delaney, coming to Davenport the same year with his bride. Here he became engaged in the lumber business, later working on the arsenal.

He leaves three daughters to mourn his death. Mrs. LaCroix who lives in the city, and Maggie and Josie who live at the family residence 1043 Tremont Avenue.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart at 9 o’clock.
