The Davenport (IA) Daily Leader; Tuesday, March 2, 1897; p. 2, col. 5:

This morning at 4 o’clock, at his home, 306[?] Brady street occurred the death of Mrs. George Cruys.

The deceased was born and reared in this city and had many friends who will regret to learn of her taking away. She had reached the age of 26 years, 9 months and 3 days.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Johanna Murray and two sisters, Mrs. Adolf LaCroix of Grendon, Mo., and Miss Maggie Murray, of this city.

The case is a sad one and the many friends of the family will sympathize with them in their deep affliction.

The funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock with services at St. Anthony’s church. Interment will be made in St. Marguerite’s cemetery.
