The Davenport (IA) Democrat & Leader; Thursday Evening, April 15, 1926; p. 19, col. 2:

John Rohweder died at Mercy hospital at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday after an illness of the past six months’ duration.

Born in Germany April 11, 1843, Mr. Rohweder came to Davenport 65 years ago. He was a cigar maker by trade.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. E. E. Shields of Apache, Okla., Mrs. R. C. Scott of Douglas, Ariz., Mrs. Ben Eggers, Mrs. L. G. Lyon, Mrs. G. Hansen, and Mrs. Matt Pohler all of Davenport.

The body was removed to the Halligan funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

Funeral of John Rohweder.

The funeral of John Rohweder was held today from the Halligan funeral home at 10 a.m. with brief services. Interment was in City cemetery.
