Former Well Known Grocer Taken by Death

Leonard H. Andresen Dies at His Parents Home After Long Illness

Leonard H. Andresen, former resident of Davenport and for some time proprietor of a grocery business at 1652 West Locust street, passed away at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Andresen on Cradle road, about two miles northwest of Davenport. His death occurred Tuesday evening at 10 o’clock and terminated a lingering illness. He was but 25 years of age. Mr. Andresen made his home with his parents since April, 1924. At that time his health failed him and he was forced to discontinue his grocery business.

The deceased was born at Donahue, Ia., on April 1, 1900, and was united in marriage to Miss Irene Herzberg, on March 10, 1923, at Davenport.

Surviving besides his wife and parents are one sister, Miss Adeline Andresen, at home, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jurgen Andresen of Maysville, Ia.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary from where it will be taken to the home of his parents for the funeral, to be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be made in Maysville cemetery.
