Yesterday morning in Blue Grass township occurred the death of Christian Meeke. The deceased was born in Prussia in 1825. In 1857 he came to Blue Grass where he has lived ever since. He was a blacksmith by trade but retired some time ago. He was a man of honesty and integrity and had the respect and esteem of all who knew him.

He leaves three children to mourn his death -- Edward, cashier at Weyerhauser and Denkmann's saw mill, Francis, a clerk in the Boston store, and Mary residing in another part of the state.

The funeral will take place tomorrow, Friday, at 2 o'clock.
