FUNERAL SERVICES TUESDAY AFTERNOON AT THE HOME NEAR SUMMIT.

John Kluever, prominent farmer residing near Summit, died at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon following a lingering illness.

He was born in Elmhorn, Holstein, Germany, April 20, 1858, and came to this country June 12, 1882, settling in Davenport. He married Miss Caroline Bunge on September 14, 1887, the couple thereafter settling on the farm near Summit where they have since lived.

Surviving besides his wife are the following children: Alex of Eldridge, Mrs. Clara Schneckloth of McCausland, Mrs. Minnie Voelkers, of Eldridge, Mrs. Hilda Ewoldt of Mt. Joy and Martha, Herbert, Waldo, Johnnie, Arthur and Wilbert at home; one sister, Mrs. Augusta Timm of Germany; one brother, Herman Bunge, of Dixon; three sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and 16 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home near Summit, with interment in Pine Hill cemetery.
