EDWARD FINLEY VETERAN ROAD WORKER IS DEAD

Davenporter Passes Away at Blue Island, Ill., After Operation

Edward Finley, well-known railroad man of this city, passed away at the St. Francis hospital, Blue Island, Ill, following an operation Saturday morning. His sudden death will be a shock to his wide circle of friends.

Mr. Finley was a veteran employee of the Rock Island railroad. During the past few years he has undergone five operations, and because of his weakened condition he was unable to rally sufficiently after the serious operation Saturday.

The deceased was born in Malcolm, Iowa, Feb. 1, 1881. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Finley: two brothers, Lester and Dennis of Davenport; and three children, Harold, Lloyd and Herbert of Rock Island.

The body will be brought to Davenport and the funeral announcements will be made later.
