Second to Die

Ezard was the second boy to die in Davenport from tetanus infection after a Fourth of July accident within the last year, and the third on record at the city hall which dates back to July 1, 1921. On July 11 of last year, Leland Ellefritz, 11, died of a similar accident in every respect. The guns were identical and both deaths resulted from infection of burns in the hand from a blank cartridge.

Raphael Ezard was born at Cuba City, Wis., Nov. 21, 1911. He received his education at St. Mary's school in Davenport and was a member of St. Mary's church.

Surviving are his father, William Ezard, three brothers, John, George and Donald; all of Davenport; and two sisters, Miss Mary Ezard of Davenport, and Miss Marion of Cuba City, Wis.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
