THE MAGUIRE OBSEQUIES.

Remains of the Veteran Policeman Laid to Rest in St. Mary's.

The funeral of the late Richard Maguire, the veteran member of the police department, took place yesterday morning at St. Mary's church, from the family residence on West Third street. The obsequies were largely attended by the friends of the deceased ex-policeman and night desk sergeant, while a portion of the members of the present force attended the funeral in a body. These were Chief Martens, Night Captain O'Connelly, and twenty patrolmen. Six of the members of the force present officiated as pall bearers, these being Julius Jansen, W.G. Mundt, Henry Goettsch, Tim Mullane, Thos. Atkinson, and William Bishop.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.P. Ryan and the interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
