MOLINE - Services for Richard "Dick" Schrempf, 72, of Moline, formerly of Glen Ellyn, Ill., will be 10 a.m. Friday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation in 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Schrempf died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at his home. He retired in 1991 after 32 years with the state of Illinois Department of Vocational rehabilitation. He was born July 26, 1925, in Moline. He married Muriel Ranney in 1964 in Metamora, Ill. She died in 1993. Memorial may be made to Illinois School for the Blind, Jacksonville, Ill., or Arrowhead Ranch, Coal Valley, Ill. Survivors include stepsons, Steve Weller, LaJolla, Calif., and Thomas Weller, El Cajon, Calif.; grandchildren, Michelle Adkins, Newport News, Va., and Eric Weller, El Cajon; a sister, Margaret Romanowski, Rock Island; and brothers, Francis "Buzz" Schrempf, Fred "Fritz" Schrempf and Thomas Schrempf, all of Moline. He also was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
