ECKLUND.

Some time Wednesday night occurred the death of Mrs. Gustav Ecklund, aged 69 years Mrs. Ecklund has been in delicate health for some time but her friends had no idea that death was near, she being up and around as usual. Wednesday night she retired feeling just about the same, but yesterday morning when her daughter, Miss Emma, went to call her she found her lying dead in bed, having to all appearances died while sleeping.

The deceased was born in Sweden 60 years ago. She came to Davenport ten years ago with her husband from Moline where they had lived for some time. She leaves with her husband, four children--August, John, Emma and Edward.

A post mortem examination was held yesterday afternoon by Coroner McCortney and Dr. J.P. Crawford which showed that death was caused by exhaustion produced by an extensive cancer.
