The Davenport Democrat & Leader; Wednesday Evening, July 6, 1927:
Mrs. Elsie Thompson, 1027 West Locust street, passed away at 6:30 a.m. this morning at St. Luke's hospital. Mrs. Thompson had been in ill health for the past two years.
The deceased was born in Morse, Denmark, July 23, 1876. She came to this country 35 years ago, direct to Davenport. She was united in marriage to Matthis Thompson, Feb. 6, 1895 in Davenport. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Eastern Star and Danish Sisterhood lodges. She was a member of the Lutheran faith and devoted to her home and family.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, George and Clarence, of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. William Clausen, Davenport, and Miss Marie Jensen, Ames, Ia.; one brother, Peter Jensen, Denmark; and one grandchild.
The remains were taken to the Runge mortuary and will be returned to the home Friday evening. Funeral services will be held from there Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Fairmount.
