Herbert Steiger, Sr.

BETTENDORF - Services for Herbert W. Steiger Sr., 80, a resident of Iowa Masonic Nursing Home, will be 11 a.m. Friday at McGinnis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at Davenport Medical Center.

He retired in 1972 after many years at Valley Truck and Equipment Co., Bettendorf.

Mr. Steiger married Beatrice Healey in 1930 in Davenport. He then married Clara Watkins Kosgard in 1951 in Columbus, Miss. She died in 1982.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the nursing home.

Survivors include sons, Herbert Steiger Jr., Panorama Park, Iowa, and James Steiger, Dixon, Iowa; stepdaughters, Lillian (Mrs. Jack) Spratt, Riverdale, and Mary Jane (Mrs. Ed) McMahon and Katherine (Mrs. A.P.) Turner, both of Rockford, Ill.; stepsons, Jack L. Kosgard and William Kosgard, both of Davenport; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Rose, Bettendorf.
