Dorothy Wiebers

CAMANCHE, Iowa – Services for Dorothy Wiebers, 88, Will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Camanche. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today at Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Mrs. Wiebers died Saturday at Samaritan South Hospital, Clinton.

Dorothy Watkins married Arnold Wiebers Sr. in 1921 in Clinton. They owned and operated Wiebers Grocery in Camanche 1939-59. He died in 1975.

She was a charter member of the church and had purchased the organ there. She also was finance secretary and a member of the Fun Friends of the church. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary 9664. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing and loved flowers.

Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses Association or the church.

Survivors include daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Leon) O’Conners, Doris (Mrs. Raymond) Schultz, Shirley (Mrs. Eugene) Kooi and Joyce (Mrs. Bob) Hart, all of Camanche; sons, Arnold Jr. and Richard, both of Camanche; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Mrs. George) Getty, Bettendorf; and brothers, Merle Watkins, of Michigan; and Thomas Watkins, Tipton.
