Celebration of Life Services are 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home.
WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Aruba M. Watkins, 92, West Liberty, formerly of Bettendorf, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty.
Celebration of Life Services are 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery Pleasant Valley.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Simpson Memorial Home, 1000 N. Miller Street, West Liberty, IA 52776. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting her obituary at www.weertsfh.com.Mrs. Watkins was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Pleasant Valley, the daughter of Charles L. and Martha E. (Johansen) Dodds. She married Clarence T. Watkins Feb. 26, 1934, at the St. Mark Lutheran Parsonage, Davenport. He preceded her in death June 9, 1971.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening and genealogy and was a member of the Forrest Grove Community Club.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Watkins and wife Myra of Camanche, Calvin Watkins and wife Linda of LeClaire and David Watkins and wife Marylu of Moscow; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Moffit and husband John of LeClaire; and a brother, Chester Dodds and wife Adeline of Bettendorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Annetta; and a brother, Lee.
