Andrea Watkins, 90, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Davenport, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. to greet visitors. Memorial contributions may be made to Mahaska Hospice or The Smile Train (a program to help children affected by cleft palates and lips).

Andrea Watkins, daughter of Ole and Anntonia Johnason Iversen, was born September 29, 1917, in Davenport. She was united in marriage to Russell Watkins in November 1935 in Davenport. They made their home in Bettendorf where she worked in shipping at the Alcoa Aluminum Plant. In 1970, they moved to Davenport and shortly thereafter Russell passed away. She remained in Davenport for 25 years, before moving to Sigourney to be near her sister, Charlotte Kitzman. For the last five years she has lived in Oskaloosa.

Andrea was baptized in the Lutheran Church and most recently attended the Hope Lutheran Church in Sigourney and St. John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa.

Her family includes her sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte M. and John Kitzman of Oskaloosa and Maxine and Kenneth Butterick of Richfield, Utah.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Laurense Knack, Christine Nickerson and Anna Allen, and a brother, John Iversen.
