DeBacker Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. Irma DeBacker, 73, who resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schneckloth, 1602 Seventh street, will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the DeRoo funeral home and at 9:20 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The Very Rev. Msgr. J. J. Leven will celebrate the requiem mass. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Sacred Heart church with members of the Altar and Rosary society attending the rosary at 2 p.m. today at the DeRoo funeral home. Members of the group are asked to attend the funeral Tuesday in a body.

Born in Lootenhull, Belgium, Feb. 19, 1874, she was educated there and came to Gaspé, Canada, in 1892. She moved to Moline three years later and in 1912, she and her husband Paul DeBacker, moved to Long Grove, Ia., where they farmed until 1930. She married Mr. DeBacker Feb. 6, 1897 in St. Mary's church, Moline. Her husband died Aug. 24, 1931. She was a member of Sacred Heart church and the Altar and Rosary and the St. Vincent de Paul societies.

Surviving are a son, Alfred, Moline; three daughters, Mrs. Schneckloth, Mrs. Rudolph DeWulf, Eldridge, Ia., Mrs. Henry Tiedje, Dixon, Ia.; four brothers, A. C. and A. J. Vandervannet, both of Moline; C. J. Vandrvand, Lake Forest; and Cyrile, Hansbeke, Belgium; a sister, Sister Mary Pacifique, Bornhem, Belgium, and ten grandchildren.
