Word has been received here by Detlef and Miss Ella Peckenschneider, 505 West Fourteenth street, of the death of their brother, Herman Peckenschneider in a hospital at Cherokee, Ia. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Peckenschneider was born in Plainview, Ia., March 9, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Detlef Peckenschneider. Thirty-seven years ago he was united in marriage to Louisa Mohn, the couple moving soon afterwards to a farm in Cherokee county and on which the present home is located.
Ten children survive. They are Mrs. Wilhelmina Nelson, Mrs. Alma Oatman, Mrs. Edna Dahma, Mrs. Lilly Dahma, all in Cherokee county, and Hugo, Harry, Hilda, Arthur and Lester at home. One son Walter, died in infancy and a sister, Mrs. Amalie Koberg died two months ago. Eight grandchildren also survive in addition to a brother Fred in Scott county and a brother August in Cedar county.
Funeral services will be held in Cherokee on Sunday and interment will be made there.
