The Davenport Democrat & Leader; Wednesday Evening, January 25, 1922:

Romania Frances Mangels, aged 13, died at 11:50 Tuesday night at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman F. Mangels, 1114 Mound street, after an illness of five weeks duration. Death was due to pneumonis. She was a student at the East Intermediate school.
She was born in Davenport, March 28, 1909, and was loved by her schoolmates and friends for her sweet dispostion. She was an exceptionally bright student.
Surviving are the parents, two sisters, Isabelle and Genofeva, and five brothers, Othmar, Robert, Clifford, Herman and Martin, all living at the home.
The body was taken to the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home, where it will remain until Thursday monring, at which time it will be taken to the home, where the funeral will be held Friday morning at 8:30, with services at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church. Interment will be in Holy Family cemetery. Friends will be welcome at the funeral services; the interment, however, will be private.
