BETTENDORF - Services for Roy W. Wright, 81, of Bettendorf will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Pleasant View Baptist Church, Bettendorf. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at the church. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 26.

Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service, Davenport, is assisting family with arrangements. Roy passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at ManorCare, Utica Ridge, Davenport.

Roy Wright was born in Galesburg, Ill., on July 22, 1930, the son of Lester and Nora (Dirks) Wright. He married Frances Marie Setterdahl on January 9, 1952, in Galesburg.

He worked as a Ceramic Tile Setter in the Quad-City area for 30 years. He retired in 1992. Roy served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Roy was a 50-year member of the Bricklayers Union 2, Rock Island, and also a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Bettendorf.

Survivors include his wife, Frances, of Bettendorf; daughters, Linda (Lawrence) Wahlen of Moline, Carol (Dale) Smith of Arlington, Tenn.; son, David Wright of Muscatine, Iowa; and two grandsons, Stephen Smith and Alex Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Shirley Mudd, Helen Shoemaker and Bernice Hames, and a brother, Paul Wright.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, Bettendorf.
