MRS CHARLES LAU CALLED BY DEATH; FUNERAL SATURDAY

Mrs Elizabeth Lau, widow of Charles W. Lau, died at 5:30 a. m. today at the family home, 208 West Central Park avenue, Davenport, following an extended illness.

Mrs Lau was born Sept. 6, 1860, in Wheeling, W. Va., and came to Scott county with her parents when a child. She was educated in the schools of this district and was married to Charles W. Lau March 10, 1881, in Davenport. The couple engaged in farming on the Magnolia Crest farm in Lincoln township until 1917, when they retired and moved to town. Mr Lau died Aug. 1, 1925, and a daughter, Mrs Cora Roth, preceded her mother in death in April, 1932. A son, Elmer Lau, also preceded his mother in death. Mrs Lau was a member of the Unitarian church.

Surviving are four sons, Alfred of Davenport, Oscar of Des Moines, Carl of Scott County and Victor Lau of Camas, Wash.; one sister, Mrs Fred Hauer of Davenport; three brothers, Charles and William Kreiter of Scott county, and John Kreiter of Davenport, and eight grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Hill & Fredericks mortuary where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m., Saturday. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.
