Funeral services for Charles Kreiter, 80, of 2043 Tremont avenue, Davenport, will held in the Hill and Fredericks chapel Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. D. Paul Chapman officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill cemetery where the Knights of Pythias lodge will conduct rites.Mr. Kreiter died at 5:55 a. m. Monday in Mercy hospital following a long illness.
He was born Nov. 21, 1872, in Scott county and had resided in Davenport the last 13 years. He formerly was engaged in farming in the Summit community in Lincoln township for many years. Mr. Kreiter married Emma Peterson [Petersen] on April 26, 1911 in Davenport, and she died Dec. 16, 1950.
He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias lodge of Eldridge and a member of the Scott County Farm Bureau.
Among the survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lenus O'Bean [Odean], Jr., Rock Island, and Mrs. Claus Jess [Jessen], R. R. No. 3, Davenport; a brother, John Kreiter, Davenport, and two grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
