Margaret Witthoft

DAVENPORT -- Margaret R. Witthoft, Davenport, went to be with her Lord Thursday, Feb. 17, 2002. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

She was employed 20 years as a supervisor of the processor programmer department at Rock Island Arsenal. She retired in 1971.

Margaret Ruth Brown was born Nov. 29, 1906, in Rome, Iowa, to Claud and Rebecca (Messer) Brown. She married Wilber E. Witthoft on Dec. 21, 1957, in Rock Island. She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church, Davenport. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, sports, watching her great-grandson play baseball and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Wilbur; a daughter, Lorraine Stroyan, Davenport, loved ones, Robert Stroyan and family; seven grandchildren, Robert Kohn, Richard Johnson, Deborah Andersen, Sandra Stroyan, Carol Stroyan, Steven Stroyan and Sheila Vasquez; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren;and a sister Agnes Sanger, Lake Isabella, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Josephine Kohn; and 11 brothers and sisters.
