DAVENPORT Wilbur E. Witthoft, 90, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.

Mr. Witthoft was born June 1, 1920, in Cedar Township, Washington County, Iowa, the son of Henry and Freda (Schultz) Witthoft. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II. On December 21, 1957, he married Margaret Ackermann in Rock Island, Ill. She preceded him in death February 17, 2000.

He retired from J.I. Case in Bettendorf in 1985. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed attending family reunions.

Survivors include four brothers and a sister, numerous nieces and nephews, and grandchildren, Deb and Don Andersen, Sandra Stroyan, Carol Stroyan, Steve and Mary Stroyan, Sheila and Monico Vasquez, Robert Kohn, and Richard Johnson. Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Lorraine Stroyan, and a sister, Frances.
