SILVIS, ILL. --- William M. DeYoung, 80, of Silvis, Ill., died Sunday, May 19, 2007, at his daughter's residence in Silvis. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 1:30 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Memorials may be made to Boy's Town.
Mr. DeYoung was born January 17, 1937, in Wapello, Iowa, the son of Oliver and Nellie Riddle DeYoung. He married Betty Jean Brown, February 20, 1946, in Davenport, she died November 23, 1980.
He worked for United Engineers for many years as an iron worker before retiring in 2000. He was a 40 year member of the Shriner's in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida and the State of Washington and he enjoyed golfing.
William is survived by daughters and spouses, Vicky and Neal Ruggles, Taylor Ridge, Ill., Theresa and Jim Ludwig, Taylor Ridge, Debbie and Gary Vance, Silvis; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by, son, William Max DeYoung, Jr., daughter, Nellie Belle DeYoung, three brothers and two sisters.
