Albert Zabel, 67, Life Resident of Scott County, Dies

Albert Zabel, 67, a life resident of Scott county, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday [26 Mar 1950] after an illness of six years. He had resided with his sister, Mrs. Henry Wiese, Eldridge, until his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Runge chapel followed by burial in Pine Hill cemetery.

Mr. Zabel was born Feb. 14, 1883, in Butler township, son of the late William and Magdelena Zabel. He was a member of Pluto lodge No. 118, Knights of Pythias.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Wiese and Mrs. Fred Gathje, Davenport, and a brother, William, Davenport. One brother, Otto, preceded him in death.

The Zabel Funeral

Funeral services for Albert Zabel were held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Runge chapel, the Rev. Fred Rolf officiating. Fred Bender sang. Burial was in Pine Hill cemetery.

Bearers were Allen, Lester, Raymond and Elmer Zabel, Ed and Elmer Marti.
