Elmer Carl Zabel, 59, of R. R. No. 1, Eldridge, died suddenly in his home at 9 a.m. Monday.

Born in Allen's Grove Twp., he was a past chancellor of Pluto Lodge No. 118, Knights of Pythias, Eldridge.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie Zabel; a brother, Raymond; and a sister, Miss Wilma, all of Eldridge. His father preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Runge Chapel, with Pluto Lodge officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. today.
