Louis P. Freund, Retired Farmer, Dies at Age 64

Louis P. Freund, 64, of R. R. No. 3, Davenport, died in his home at 9:10 a.m. Thursday following a lingering illness.

A life resident of Scott county and a prominent farmer on North Brady street road for a number of years, Mr. Freund was born Aug. 23, 1884 and had been engaged in farming until retiring 15 years ago. He was married to Anna H. Gruenwald in St. Paul the Apostle church, Davenport, Oct. 2, 1915. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George K. Freund, were pioneer residents of this county.

Surviving in addition to the widow are a son, Richard of Davenport; three grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur of Colorado Springs, Colo., Leo of Davenport, and Henry, Phoenix, Ariz., and a sister, Miss Edith Freund of Colorado Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 6:45 a.m.m Saturday in the Halligan funeral home followed by requiem high mass at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony's church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The roasary will be recited in the funeral home 8 p.m. Friday.

Freund Estate Worth $76,252

Louis P. Freund, retired farmer, who resided on R. R. No. 3, Davenport, left an estate valued at $76,252.07, including $52,000 in real estate, according to a preliminary inheritance tax report filed Wednesday in the Scott county district court.

Mr. Freund, who died April 21 at the age of 64, bequeathed his entire estate to his widow, Anna, who is named executrix. Hail & McCarthy are the attorneys.
