Mrs. A. Freund Dead; Born in Scott County

Wife of Prominent Retired Farmer Dies After Lingering Illness.

Mrs. Louisa K. Freund, wife of Albert Freund and daughter of the Late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rogge, passed away at 9:10 this morning, after a lingering illness. The family home is at 2428 Tremont avenue.

Mrs. Freund was a lifelong resident of Scott county. She was born Feb. 14, 1871, and was 54 years old at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to Albert Freund on Feb. 19, 1895, at St. Joseph's church, Monsignor A. Nierman performing the ceremony. The couple resided on a farm in Pleasant Valley township until four years ago, when Mr. Freund retired and removed to Davenport.

Mrs. Freund received her education in St. Joseph's school. She was a devoted wife and strongly attached to her home and church life.

Surviving besides her husband are one brother, Philip Rogge, Scott county; and two sisters, Mrs. Ignatz Freund and Mrs. J. A. Freund, both of Davenport, the three sisters having married three brothers.

The body was removed to the Fred. N. Ruhl funeral home, whence the funeral will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 with services at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph's church. Interment will be in Holy Family cemetery.

The Freund Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. L. K. Freund, wife of Albert Freund, were held Saturday morning from the Fred. N. Ruhl funeral home, to St. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock. There was a solemn requiem high mass celebrated with the Rev. C. J. Donohoe, celebrant, the Rev. J. J. Schoenfelder, and the Rev. J. J. Welch, sub-deacon.

The Rev. Father Donohoe pronounced the burial absolution, preached the funeral sermon, and officiated at the grave in Holy Family cemetery.

At the offertory of the mass, Howard Carroll sang an "Ave Maria"; at the conclusion of the mass, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and at the conclusion of the services, "Lead Kindly Light." The services were very largely attended.

The pallbearers, six nephews of the deceased, were Arthur and Leonard Rogge, Irwin, Lawrence, Fred and Harry Freund.
