Beloved Young Woman Called by Death Angel

Pneumonia Proves Fatal to Miss F. T. Rogge After Month's Illness.

A brave fight for life was ended at Mercy Hospital Thursday night at 10:40 o'clock in the death of Miss Frances Theresa Rogge, which resulted from a month's siege of pneumonia. Miss Rogge was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Rogge and spent her entire life in this community where a host of friends will be grieved to learn of her passing. Her home was at the old Rogge homestead, R. R. No. 3, a mile west of the Eldredge (?) road. She was 30 years of age.

Miss Rogge was born on Aug 29, 1895, in Scott county, and received her education in the county schools. Surviving are seven brothers, Joseph H. of Lewistown, Mont (?), John P., Bernard M., Odillo G. and Albert J., all of Winnet, Mont, and Marcus G. and Edward Rogge at home, and four sisters, Mrs. Ferdinand Heim of Davenport, Miss Julia J., Miss Thresa E., and Miss Agness J. Rogge, all at home. The body was removed to the Fred N Ruhl funeral home where it will remain until Saturday evening when it will be taken to the late home. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 8 o'clock from the home with services at 9 o'clock in Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery.

The Rogge Funeral

Funeral services for Miss Frances Rogge were held this morning from the family home, Davenport R. R. 3, one mile west of the Eldridge road, with services at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Rev. P. D. Moore celebrated a requiem high mass and pronounced the burial absolution.

Before the cortege left the home, Howard Carroll sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Face to Face" and Mrs. P. Rogge sang "Where As a Father." At the church Mr. Carroll sang the "Ave Maria" of Rosewidge, at the offertory and the conclusion, "Mother Dearest, Mother Fairest." At the conclusion of the services he sang "Nearer My God to Thee."

The Rev. Richard Eagen officiated at the grave in St. Marguerite's cemetery. The pallbearers were Joseph Rogge, P. Rogge, Jr., John Meinhardt, Ferdinand Hein, Edward Jens and Henry Schilling.
