Mrs. Margaret Volz died at her home 1412 Harrison street, Saturday, at 9 p.m., after an illness of five weeks from typhoid malaria. The news of her death will be a sad shock to her many friends and acquaintances, any of whom two months ago would have given her a lease of life for at least another score of years.

Mrs. Volz was born at Steinfeldt, in Bavaria, Germany, 57 years ago. With her husband, Joseph Volz, Sr., a well known and respected Davenporter, who survives to mourn her loss, she made this city her home for the past 36 years. Her children were all with her in her last moments. They are Joseph F. Volz, the Brady street merchant tailor, Mrs. Geo. Bruehler of Beresford, Dakota; Mrs. D. W. Ryan; Mrs. T. J. Rocholl and George, May, Charles, Maggie and Fred Volz of this city. The deceased was a sister of Frank, Richard, John and Casper Schebler of this city. The bereaved relatives are tendered sympathy in their sad affliction.

The funeral of Mrs. Volz will take place Tuesday morning with services at St. Anthony's church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
