Mrs. Elizabeth Schebler, wife of George B. Schebler, passed away Saturday at 2 p.m., at the family home, 115 Michigan avenue, Davenport. Death terminated an illness of five weeks' duration.

Mrs. Schebler was born in Germany on July 17, 1865, coming to the United States when 13 years old, with her parents. She had been a resident of Davenport since 1885, and here married George B. Schebler on May 22, 1888, at St. Joseph's church, with Monsignor A. Niermann performing the ceremony. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Gombert. Mrs. Schebler was a good mother and lived with her heart and soul in the lives of her children. For the past 15 years she has been a member of St. Alphonsus' parish.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Harry J. of Davenport, George C., of Saginaw, Mich., Frederick E. of Rock Island, and Clarence A. of Davenport; three daughters, Miss Bessie, at home; Mrs. Norris Buchter of New Haven, Conn., and Mrs. Oscar Petersen of Davenport; four grandsons, and one granddaughter.

The body was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl Funeral home, from where it will be taken to the home this afternoon for funeral services to be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., to St. Alphonsus' church at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in Holy Family cemetery.

The Schebler Funeral

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Schebler, wife of George A. Schebler, was held today at 8:30 a.m. from the late home, 115 Michigan avenue, with services at 9 a.m. at the St. Alphonsus church. Rev. H. E. Phillips celebrated requiem high mass, pronounced the burial absolution, and preached the funeral sermon. Rev. Phillips also officiated at the burial in Holy Family cemetery. There was a profusion of flowers and the church was filled with mourning friends.

The pallbearers were Edwar, Eugene, and Anthony Gasser, Anthony Hiegel, Ed Schebler and Alfred Cullen.
