Rooters Start Trouble.

The trouble which resulted in Littig's death began during the game which was played at Rock Island. There was intense rivalry between the teams and several times the contesting factions came to blows. On the return home a running fight was indulged in and the trouble came to a climax when several of the Rock Island rooters in a buggy began cracking their whip at some of the Davenport boys on a car. The terrible accident followed. Littig was a graduate of Harvard university and a brother of Victor Littig, also of Harvard, coach of the Davenport football team.
