Page 15Mrs. Christina Ehlers, 77, died at 1:15 p.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Dittmer, 815 Dittmer street, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Ehlers was born in Segaburg, Germany, May 29, 1851, and came to America in a sailing vessel when six years old. The family came direct to Davenport where she has since resided. She was married to August H. Ehlers in 1869. Her maiden name was Christina Kroeger. Mr. Ehlers preceded her in death in 1904. She was a member of the Old Settler's association.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Anna M. Hibbard, Valley Junction, Ia.; Mrs. Dora L. Dittmer, and Mrs. Ella Kruse, both of Davenport; five sons, Adolph, William, Louis, Henry and Carl Ehlers, all of Davenport; one sister, Mrs. Mary Dengler, Traer, Ia.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was removed to the Runge mortuary. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Page 14Funeral services for Mrs. Christina Ehlers were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora L. Dittmer, 815 Dittmer street. The Rev. J. A. Miller officiated at the services at the home and at the grave in Fairmount cemetery.
Miss Mayme Wulff and Mrs. Emily Davis sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "In the Garden."
Pallbearers were Adolph, William, Carl, Henry and Louis Ehlers and Louis Dittmer.
