This morning at 4 o'clock at his home on the Lost Grove road, about miles from the city, occurred the death of Peter Freund at the age of 72 years. The deceased was born in the village of Goldbach, Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, Germany, and had been a resident of this place forty-four years. He was a well-known and respected farmer of Scott county and had made many friends. He leaves his wife, Marguerita, nee Krause, and six sons, George K., John A., Ignatz, Albert, Joseph and Edward, of this county, and two daughters, Mrs. Francis Banscher, of Carroll county, Iowa, and Mrs. Philip Rogge, of this county.

The funeral will be held on Monday morning with services at St. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Holy Family cemetery.
