The Tribune; Davenport, Scott, Iowa; Wednesday, April 3, 1889, pg 3
Sunday evening at the Old Ladies Home occurred the death of an old lady who several years ago was one of the fashionable dressmakers of the city, Mrs. Olive Stacey. Through sickness she lost what was at one time a fine trade and was obliged to take in plain sewing. About three years ago the various charitable organizations in this city exerted their influence and had her placed in the Home, where her declining days were passed in peace. She was 73 years of age and had lived in this city for 36 years past. Her death was caused by paralysis which has caused her to be disabled for some time. Her only relative, a sister, died in Mercy hospital about two years ago. The funeral took place yesterday with interment in Oakdale.
