Albert Reed died at 11:30 this morning at Mercy hospital after a lingering sickness lasting a year.

He was born in Decatur, Ill., December 11, 1847, and in early youth moved to Louisa county, Ia., where he has farmed for 60 years, being one of the best known and most successful farmers of that community. He was a bachelor.

The body was removed to the Stapleton parlors until arrangements for the funeral have been completed. One brother, Joseph, survives him.

The Reed Funeral

The body of Albert Reed was shipped Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Stapleton parlors to Muscatine, where funeral services will be held Friday morning. Burial will be in the family lot in Louisa county cemetery.
