Davenport-Services for Clara M. Epping, 99, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Kahl Home for the Aged. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home, Davenport, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Epping died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at the Kahl Home for the Aged, Davenport.

She was a seamstress for William Mundy's, Davenport, retiring in in 1980.

Clara DeBettignies was born Dec. 22, 1897, to John and Christine (Zinzer) DeBettignies. She married Anthony Epping on August 17, 1922, in New Hampton, Iowa. He died Feb. 8, 1973

She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, Davenport and enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. She was a very talented seamstress.

Memorials may be made to Kahl Home for the Aged, Assumption High School or St. Paul the Apostle School Building Fund.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhea Epping, Davenport, a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dan Johnston, Bettendorf;daughters-in-law, Elaine Epping, Davenport, and Clara Epping, Camarillo, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by sons, James, Sept. 6, 1994, and Quintin, Jan. 10, 1971.
