Frances Riedman, Nurse, Passes Away in Chicago Hospital.

Frances Riedman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Riedman of Eleventh and Pine streets, and a nurse at St. Mary's of Nazareth hospital, Chicago, died Thursday, after a brief illness of Spanish influenza, which developed into pleuro-pneumonia.

Miss Riedman was born in Davenport, Oct. 14, 1892, and was educated in the city schools. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's parochial school, and also a member of the choir of St. Joseph's church. She had been in training at St. Mary of Nazareth hospital for the past two years and had been ill but a short time before her death. She was on duty up until Wednesday of last week when she was taken seriously ill. Death occurred Thursday.

Well known and very popular among a wide circle of friends, her death will come as a distinct shock, and will be regretted by those who knew her.

Surviving are her parents Mr. and Mrs. Michael Riedman, two brothers John and Erhardt of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Anna Schneegold of this city, Mrs. Pauline Pohlmann of Effingham, Ill., and Sister Mary Matildas of the Sisters of Charity, B.V.M., who is now stationed in Des Moines.

The remains have arrived in the city and funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 from the home of her parents and will be followed by a requiem mass at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church. Interment will take place in Holy Family cemetery.
