George O. Hoffman, 2324 Boise avenue, Davenport, died at 10:30 p.m. yesterday at Mercy hospital after an illness of two weeks duration.
He was born in Davenport, Aug. 11, 1867, and received his education in the schools here. On Dec. 15, 1888, he married Wilhelmina Hansen and she preceded him in death in March 1919. Three years later he married Margaret Mevis. Mr. Hoffman was employed for many years at the Schricker Marble Co., retiring years ago. He was a member of the East Davenport Turners.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. H. P. Nelson, Mrs. F. N. Mielke, Mrs. C. E. Bireline and Mrs. E. N. Griswold, all of Davenport; one son George, jr., of Davenport; one brother, Arthur, of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. John Meyer(sic) and Mrs. Harry Jansen, both of Davenport; two grandchildren; one half-brother, J. C. Schricker of Davenport and one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Hart of Davenport.
The body was taken to the Runge mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday. Burial was in Fairmount cemetery.
