McDonald
John McDonald, 827 Brown street, Davenport, for many years a pilot on the Mississippi, passed away at the United States marine hospital, Chicago, this morning at 12 o’clock. His death followed a lingering illness.
The deceased was born April 16, 1858, at Lyons, Ia. On March 27, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Louisa F. Underholt at Albany, Ill., and in 1907 they came to Davenport, where he was for the past 11 years occupied as pilot of the Lone Star steamboat, belonging to the Builders’ Lime & Cement Co. Mr. McDonald had been piloting boats 40 years of his lifetime. At Albany he was a member of the Court of Honor of the Modern Woodmen of the World, camp No. 32.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Harry L. and Ray L., both of Davenport, one daughter, Mrs. Orrel Rivers of Los Angeles, two sisters, Mrs. V. L. Hanks of St. Paul and Mrs. M. Ewing of Albany, Ill., and two grandchildren.
The body will be brought to Davenport and taken to the Hill & Fredericks mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

McDonald Funeral
The body of John McDonald, who passed away at the U. S. Marine hospital in Chicago, will arrive in Davenport this afternoon and will be removed to his residence, 827 Brown street, Friday morning.
The funeral will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and interment will follow in Oakdale cemetery.

McDonald Funeral
Funeral services for John McDonald were held Saturday afternoon from his late home, 827 Brown street with interment occurring in Oakdale cemetery. Rev M. A. Getzendaner had charge of the services.
Pallbearers were H. Goos, M. Hanley, F. Wilson, Edward Kochle, H. Witt and Capt. G. Case.
