The Davenport Leader and Democrat; Wednesday Evening, January 21, 1925:

Schindler

Remig Schindler, 421 Homestead avenue, Davenport, passed away at the home of Mr. and Mr. L. Frodell, 524 Third street, Rock Island this morning at seven o’clock. The death terminated a lingering illness.

The deceased was born May 26, 1860 in Germany, and came to the United States in 1869, settling in Rock Island. He had been a resident of Davenport the past 20 years, residing at 421 Homestead avenue. For a number of years, Mr. Schindler was employed at the Red Jacket Pump Co. His wife preceded him in death four years ago. Fraternally he was connected with the R.O.E. No. 235, and Red Men, Tribe No. 32.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Harden of Rock Island, Mrs. Edwin Jordon [or Jordan] of Rock Island, and Mrs. John Laman of McVain, Mich., and one son, Edward of Davenport. One daughter and one son preceded him in death.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Remig Schindler will be held from the late home, 421 Homestead avenue, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment will occur in Oakdale cemetery.

Schindler Funeral

The funeral of Remig Schindler was held Saturday afternoon from his late home, 421 Homestead avenue. Rev. Archamboult of the reorganized church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints officiated at the home. John Witt, president of the F.O.E. No. 235 of Davenport held services, and Chaplain A. Cawiezell offered a prayer. E. E. Koth, Sachem, and R. A. Lancaster, Prophet, both of the Red Men Tribe No. 32, officiated at the interment in Oakdale cemetery.

Mrs. L. Willets and Miss Jennie Gunlock sang “Lead Kindly Light” and “Abide With Me.”

The pallbearers were L. Frodell, H. Schnoor, Arthur Peters, George Groves, J. . Kellett and W. R. Stormer.
