Well Known Farmer Dies

Adolph F. Bolte, Life-Long Resident of Scott County, Is Summoned

Death occurred to Adolph F. Bolte, 69 years old, well known life-long resident of Scott county at a local hospital this morning at 3:30 o’clock. He had been ailing for the past four months.

Mr. Bolte was born June 11, 1855 on a farm in Blue Grass township, where he resided until four years ago, when he moved to Davenport. A year ago he moved back to the farm where he was born, to make his home with his son. On March 15, 1894, he married Miss Jennie C. Illian, who preceded him in death three years ago.

For 20 years Mr. Bolte was assessor of Blue Grass township, and is well known throughout the county for his efficient services, and interest shown in all community affairs. He was a member of the Scott County Pioneers’ association, and for the past year held the office of president. Fraternally he belonged to K. of P. lodge, No. 312.

Surviving him are three sons, Fred W., Herbert A., and Walter A., one daughter, Mrs. Waldo Korthaus, and two grandchildren, Albert A. Bolte and Evelyn E. Bolte all of Scott county.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary, and will be taken to the home on the West Locust street road Saturday afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and interment will take place in the Fairmount cemetery.

The Bolte Funeral

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Adolph Bolte from his late home, four miles west of Davenport, on the Locust street road. Rev. J. A. Miller officiated at the home and at the interment in Fairmount cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alfred Schnore, Albert Kortem, Fred Brus, Arthur Bolte, Allen Goering and Henry Goering.
