Kahl
Hans Kahl passed away this morning at 4 o’clock at his home, 1620 West Twelfth street. His death terminated an illness of three weeks’ duration.
The deceased was born May 1, 1843, in Germany, and came to the United States in the early ‘60s, settling first in Clinton county, where he married Miss Anna Beck on June 7, 1871. In 1873 the moved to Walnut, Ia., where they resided until 24 years ago, when they moved to Davenport. He was a member of the Scott County Old Settlers’ association.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Kahl, three daughters, Mrs. Gustave Engel of Dixon, Ia., Mrs. John Zismer of Rock Island and Mrs. Paul Wagner of Davenport, and eight sons, Charles, Ernest, Julius, August, Henry, William Fred and Herman, all of Western Ia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the late home, 1620 West Twelfth street, and interment will take place in the Fairmount cemetery.

Kahl Funeral
The funeral of Hans Kahl were held Saturday afternoon from the late home, 1620 West Twelfth street, with interment in Fairmount cemetery. Rev. Carl Holterman officiated both at the home and at the burial.
Six sons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were Julius, August, Ernest, Fred, Henry and Herman Kahl.

Widow to Have Lifetime Use of Kahl Estate
Mrs. Anna Kahl, widow of the late Hans Kahl, is given a life interest in the latter’s estate, according to the will filed in district court for probate. Louis Pahl and J. G. Engel are named executors.
