Burnham

Mrs. Nellie Burnham, who has made her home the past two years with her son-in-law, J. J. McShane, and family, 340 Forest road, died this morning at 4 o’clock at the Mercy hospital.

The decedent was born Oct. 29, 1853, in the state of New York, and was 71 years old when death occurred. She was formerly Miss Nellie Cushing, and was married to Scott Dwight Burnham, who preceded her in death in August, 1901.

Surviving are the McShane family in Davenport, a daughter, Ruth Hoyt in Wichita Falls, Tex., a brother, Charles R. Cushing in Wichita, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the chapel of Hill & Fredericks, with Dr. Leroy Coffman of the First Presbyterian church officiating. The body will be taken tomorrow morning via the Rock Island railroad, accompanied by her daughter, and son-in-law, to Minneapolis, Kan., where interment will take place.
