Winters

Edwin Winters passed away Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock at Mercy hospital after a lingering illness of six years.

The deceased was born May 12, 1859, in Ireland, and came to Davenport 40 years ago, where he married Miss Mary Manion on Sept. 6, 1890, at St. Anthony’s church, Rev. Flannery performing the ceremony. He was employed at the Silvis shops for many years.

Surviving are his wife, and one son, Cleo, and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the home, 430 West Ninth street, Friday morning at 7:45 o’clock, with services at St. Anthony’s church at 8:15 o’clock. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s cemetery.
