Mrs. Geneva Tibbs died Sunday afternoon at 12:35 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucile Bymun, 1223 Iowa street.
The deceased was born in January, 1854, at Milton, N. C., and there married Navant Olevian. Three children were born to the couple, Mrs. Lucile Bymun of Davenport, Clarence Olevian of New York and Charles Olevian of Los Angeles. Her husband preceded her in death, and she again married in 1885 [to] Samuel Tibbs at Franklin, La.
Surviving besides the children born to her and her first husband are the following children: Berkley Tibbs of California and Josephine of New Orleans; three brothers, Abraham Peters of Washington, D. C., J. R. Peters of Los Angeles, and two sisters, Miss Margaret Peters and Mrs. Ada Duwright, both of New Orleans. Three children preceded her in death.Funeral services will be held at the Bethel A. M. E. church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock after which the body will be shipped to New Orleans for interment. Rev. George Holt will officiate at the church services.
