Fluke

Mrs. Celia K. Fluke died Sunday morning at 6:40 o’clock at the home of her niece, Mrs. J. H. Daniels, 1128 Bridge avenue. Death terminated a lingering illness.

Mrs. Fluke was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Kober, and was born on the Kober homestead on Dec. 2, 1843, being 81 years old at the time of death. On May 15, 1867, she was united in marriage to Newton K. Fluke, who preceded her in death 22 years ago. She was a life-long resident of Scott county, and a member of St. John’s Methodist church from early childhood. For many years she was a faithful worker of the foreign missionary society, of which she was treasurer for more than 20 years.

The survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Woodford of Davenport, Mrs. Susie J. Murray of Davenport, and Mrs. Kate Silk of Moline, and a brother, C. M. Kober, of Hastings, Neb.

The funeral will be held from the home of her niece, Mrs. J. H. Daniels, 1128 Bridge avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment will take place in Oakdale cemetery.
