Peter O誰eil, Big Rock, Dies

Veteran Resident of Vicinity Succumbs; Was Native of Canada

Big Rock, Ia., Jan. 3 - Peter O誰eil, aged 80 years, one of the oldest residents of Spring Rock township, died at 9:05 o団lock last night in his home after an illness of several weeks. He was stricken with paralysis Monday and sank rapidly, the end coming last night.

Mr. O誰eil was born in Perth, Ontario, Canada, Feb. 22, 1844, and came to this community with his parents when he was six years old. He had been a farmer here since. In January, 1877, he was united in marriage with Miss Bridget L. Rarick in DeWitt.

The widow, five daughters, Mrs. Winnifred Feriverda, Chicago, Mrs. Lucy O達rien, Grand Mound, Mrs. Genevieve Nelson, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Gertrude Riley, Des Moines, and Miss Mary O誰eil, at home, and three sons, John L., Joseph A. and Martin, all of Big Rock survive. Two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kirkpatrick of Enid, Okla., and Katherine Greck, Pasadena, Cal., also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o団lock Monday morning in St. Patrick痴 church here.
