Mrs. Francis Sophie Swenson Dies at St. Luke’s

Mrs. Francis Sophie Swenson, 1125 East Garfield street, passed away Saturday evening at 6:30 o’clock at St. Luke’s hospital. Death terminated an illness durating [sic] two weeks.

The deceased was born September 2, 1882 at Burlington, Ia., and on April 12, 1905 was united in marriage to Arvid J. R. Swenson at Davenport. The family made their home here until 1919 when they moved to Minnesota, returning to Davenport one year ago. Mrs. Swenson was a member of the Lutheran church.

Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Dorothy, Evelyn, Katherine, and June Shirley, one son, Bernard, all of Davenport, a brother, John Emendorfer of Davenport, and a sister Mrs. Harry Fleener of Wausaukee, Wis.

The body was taken to the Runge mortuary pending funeral arrangements.
